Michael Henry Cornett , died in ICU at University Medical Center of New Orleans on December 29, 2023. He was born in Paincourtville, LA, in Assumption Parish. He worked for over 30 years in the restaurant industry before retiring. He was employed by Seaport Café and Bar in New Orleans and Sodexo at Tulane University in New Orleans. Mr. Cornett was a devout Catholic and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and International Shrine of St. Jude. He is survived by his devoted friends and caretakers, Ms. Juanita Dilbert, Mr. Earl L. McCray, Sr. and Mrs. Yolanda Dilbert Buie, all of New Orleans, LA. He is also survived by many friends and team members. Mr. Cornett was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Ruble Howell Cornett and Mrs. Mary Evelyn Simoneaux Cornett of Assumption Parish.

• Funeral service will take place at Heritage Funeral Directors, 4101 St. Claude Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117 on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 10:00am.

• Visitation begin at 9:00am until the hour of services. Rev. Anthony Rigoli, OMI, Pastor, Celebrant.

• Interment will at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA.

• Friends and previous team members of Seaport Café and Bar, Houlihan’s Restaurant and Bar, Georgie Porgie’s Restaurant Discotheque (formerly on Poydras in New Orleans) and Sodexo at Tulane University are invited to attend.
