Albert Joseph Payne Jr

Albert Joseph Payne Jr , known to friends and family as Alboogie, passed peacefully from this life to eternal life on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the age of 47. Albert was born October 15, 1975 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Reverend Albert J. Payne Sr and Jeanette Payne, who survive him.

He is further survived by his brothers Jeremy and Demetrius Payne, his ex-wife Terrilyn Payne, by his children, Jalil Harris, Joshua Chaney, Cierra Hamond, and Anngel Grant, his two stepchildren, Tre’von and Armand Harris, his four grandchildren, and his grandmother, Beatrice Matthews, as well as by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and by pastors, officers, and members of neighboring churches.

Albert is preceded in death by his brother Jeremiah Payne, his stepmother Grace Payne, and his grandparents, Warren Payne Sr and Marietta Payne.

• All are invited to attend a memorial service for Albert Joseph Payne Jr. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 10 am at Christian Mission Baptist Church at 1477 North Robertson Street in New Orleans, officiated by the Reverend Charles Morris Daniels.

• A repast will follow at the Lucky Johnson Community Center at 7196 Florita Court in New Orleans, LA 70126.
