Shirley Lott

Shirley Mae Lott was called home to be with The Lord on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the age of 89 years old. Shirley May lot was born in New Orleans, La. September 8, 1935, to the late Rosemary Dominick and Johnny Lott. Shirley was passionate about cooking, dancing, music, horseback riding, often reminiscing about her days when she lived in Houston Texas. She was an outgoing, kind, loving and caring person about life, reveling in all that Texas & New Orleans offered, just enjoying life to the fullest. In her younger years she lived in Houston, Texas. She and her husband (Peter), who was active in all things with Rodeos for over 30 years. They were the proprietors of the Diamond L. Ranch located in Houston Texas. While living in Texas she was well known for her New Orleans cuisine cooking. She returned to New Orleans greater than 10 years ago to care for her elderly mother. She’s proceeded in death by her father, Johnny Lott, mother Rosemary Dominick, Stepfather Fleming Dominick, husband (Peter), Samuel Barnes (son), two brothers Johnny Lott and Harry Smith. She is survived by a sister Deloris Hansell Dominick, grandkids, nieces Diana Dominick Merrill, Linda Hansell Singleton, Marjorie Hansell Brooks & Paulette James. Nephews Alfred Roland Hansell and Randy James Hansell. Also, a host of Great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, Church family members and friends. Her favorite bible verse was PSALM 23:1-6 The LORD is my shepherd. 1: I lack nothing. 2 He lets me rest in grassy meadows; he leads me to restful waters; 3 he keeps me [a] alive. He guides me in proper paths for the sake of his good name. 4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger because you are with me. Your rod and your staff—they protect me. 5 You set a table for me right in front of my enemies. You bathe my head in oil; my cup is so full it spills over! 6 Yes, goodness and faithful love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live[b] in the LORD’s house as long as I live.
