Robert J. (Bob) Meyer

Robert J. (Bob) Meyer 83, born 8/8/39 passed peacefully on 6/10/23 in his beloved city of New Orleans where he lived with daughter Mandy and SIL Scott for the last 6 years. He em- braced life in the Crescent City and enjoyed all it had to offer: food, music and parades where he got to dress in all his fun costumes! He became a true New Orleanian and celebrated Life! He spent over 20 years in Montana where the rest of his family still lives but was born and raised in Milwaukee WI.

With his five kids, he and wife of 54 years, Mary Ann, filled their young lives with Scouting, Soap Box Derby and of course music, where he played in a polka band every weekend. After moving to Sun Prairie WI, he and his sons formed the Musket Ridge Band, a local favorite, which later morphed into the next band, Montana Blue and the Big Sky Cowboys, which precipitated the move to MT in 1996. They became nationally known in the Western Music circle and made a brilliant album. After that, they enjoyed living in Big Sky country with Yellowstone as their backyard and watching their 7 grandkids grow up. Being a corporate President for many years, we called it his “side job”, only paled next to dedicating his life to music, whether singing with his family or with his piano partner Sister Dominique Long of St. Mary’s church in Livingston MT, where he wrote and hosted many dinner theater fundraisers.

His life was his family, music, his many pets and as an artist painting with oils and acrylics. He was game for anything and was fiercely loyal to all in his circle. A Renaissance Man to the end, his zest for life will carry on forever, and a traditional New Orleans Second Line will commence for him this fall. Lassiez les Bon Temps Rouler! Kids: Mandy Meyer & Scott McGlinchey; Danny & Diane Meyer; Kevin & Cathy Meyer; Brian & Gretchen Meyer; Missy Mey- er & Pete Adams. Grandkids: Sara & Cole Arthun- Emma, Nora & Addy; Mariah & Clay Cantrell- Alice & Gunner; Paul Meyer; Tom & Aynslee Meyer- Finnley & Zoey; Molly Traynor- Ryley, Ro- nan, Kasper, Ryan Jr and Hayden; Claire & Patrick Amborn- Bona; Bobby & Delaney Wisneski. Sister: Pamela Meyer. Nieces: Christine Doleshal, Carrie Ripp and traveling buddy Susan Otto.
