Mercedes Madison Williams

entered the gates of heaven on September 5, 2018 at the age of 73.  Mercedes was born in New Orleans on October 24, 1944.  She was educated in the New Orleans Public school system. She worked as a domestic worker and in the hospitality industry. Mercedes is survived by two children Kenneth Wayne Walker and Donna Walker-Buggage (David), four grandchildren Candace Walker-McCall (Alvin); Kelvin Bourgeois Jr (Eryka); Kendra B. Walker; Charles Buggage; three great grandchildren, Di’Ayren McCall, Kace Bourgeois, and Ja’Kyren McCall; one surviving sister Marilyn Madison Elder, one sister-in-law Michelle Williams, four step-children, five God-Children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.

Mercedes is preceded in death by her parents Alexander Madison Sr. and Doretha Hills-Madison, Husband Berthi F Williams; Siblings: Alexander Madison Jr., Dorothy Madison-Varnado, Celestine Madison-Neville, Louis Robinson, Althea Robinson-Riley, and Lee Rolland Robinson; grandchildren: Di’Avion A. Hite, Kyren T.G. Thomas, and Jaylen M.J. Thomas.

Funeral Services at Little Zion Baptist Church, 4821 Earhart Blvd New Orleans La 70125 on Saturday September 15, 2018 at 10am. Visitation will be held at 9am.

Interment at Carrollton Cemetery in New Orleans.
