In Loving Memory of Lynita Lorenza Louis

With heavy hearts yet steadfast faith, we announce the passing of Lynita Lorenza Louis, beloved daughter, sister, wife, and friend who left this world on January 11, 2026, in New Orleans at the age of 55. Lynita Lorenza Louis was born on August 14, 1970, to the union of Rev. Leonard and Juanita Louis in New Orleans, La. Lynita accepted her Lord and Savior at an early age of 8. She was baptized at Broadway Missionary Baptist Church, where she was very active, singing in the choir and also serving as Youth Choir Director. Lynita is survived by her parents, Rev. Leonard and Mrs. Juanita Louis, her brother Tremell Louis (Rhonda), her sister/best friend Alita Champagne, her husband Troy Garrett, her nieces Corrine Louis, Ireti Akinwande, her nephew Ayo Akinwande, her godchildren Elijah Willington, Bernard Robinson Jr., Callia Thompson, her close friends Danielle Martin Thompson, and Wanda Hannibal. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Chester Cooper, Hatter Hebert Cooper Leonard Louis Sr., and Olivia Stedart Louis. Relatives, friends of the family, and members of the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church are invited to attend the funeral service at the Broadway Missionary Baptist Church at 121 Alvin Callender St. New Orleans, La 70118 on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 11:00a.m. Rev. Cornelius Tilton, D.D. officiating. Tribute to follow at Repast.
