Francisco Blanco

Francisco A. Blanco, Sr., born to the union of Gregorio and Arcangela Blanco, in Tela, Honduras on October 10, 1927. He transitioned to glory on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM, peacefully at his home surrounded by his granddaughter Monay and his wife, and other family members. He was the oldest of his siblings, there are two surviving siblings, Gregorio and Abraham, residing in New York. He was the father of Francisco A. Blanco, Jr. (Deceased) and Aliska B. Moffett (James). A Blessing to Gerald V. Lewis, and Germaine L. Richcha (Mornir) of Richmond, Virginia. The Husband of Glenda Lewis- Blanco for twenty-nine years, wherever you saw Glenda, you were sure to see Frank. Glenda never left Frank behind, he was right there by her side. Frank cherished and adored Glenda, and she cherished and adored him as well. He’s the grandfather of Francisco A. Blanco, III (Tracy), Tony Blanco, Sr. (Wendy), Ranata B. Melancon (Anthony), Melania B. Newton (Elester), James L. Moffett, III (Chantel), Ivy M. Williams (Corey), Monay T. Lewis, Na’eema Richcha and Zahra Richcha. Francisco was the great-grandfather of fourteen.He came to New Orleans at the age of eighteen to stay with his brother, until he found his own place. Private First Class, Francisco A. Blanco, joined the U.S. Armed Forces in January of 1951, and transferred to the U.S. Army Reserve in 1952. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Armed Forces on October 15, 1956. Upon leaving the military, Francisco became a seaman with the Snug Harbor Company, where he traveled to the Panama Canal frequently for work. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church for sixty -two years, and a part of Bethels Groundbreaking in 1964.Francisco received his master’s degree in accounting from SUNO in May of 1977. He worked in the New Orleans Public School System for years. Francisco was a member of the Grand Consistory of the State of Louisiana, holding a 32nd Degree honor. After his health failed in October of 2018, he became an Honorary Member. Catherino, his nephew, stood by his side, making sure he was okay. Catherino and his family traveled to New Orleans to visit on several occasions. An Angel with Honor, Dignity, Integrity, and Self-respect. Gone on in, take your wings, your white robe and fly on in heavens gates. He leaves behind his lovely wife, Glenda L. Blanco, Daughters, Aliska and, Germaine, son, Gerald, brothers, Gregoria and Abraham, Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Sister-in-loves, Brother-in-loves, Geraldine Blanco Lovett, and a host of nieces, nephews, his mason brothers, and Bethel Lutheran Church Family, who loved him and who prayed for him often.Services on Friday, August 14, 2026, Viewing: 8 AM - 9 AM, Services at 10:00 AM,
