Mr. Ferdinand R. Juluke, Sr. September 25, 1926 – March 27, 2026
Mr. Ferdinand R. Juluke, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the age of 99. A lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana he was a man of strength, dignity, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Born on September 25, 1926 in New Orleans, Ferdinand was raised with strong values of discipline, self-confidence, and loyalty. From an early age, he was taught the importance of putting family first—a principle that guided him throughout his life. With the positive influence of his stepfather, he developed the character and work ethic that contributed to his long and meaningful life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Juluke and Hazel Juluke Murphy; daughters, Marva Davis and Edna Marie Juluke; sisters: Leona St. Pierre, Ida Mae Roy, Barbara Mutin, and Bernadine George; brothers: Warren Juluke, George Murphy, Albert Murphy Jr., and Charles Murphy; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three former wives.
Mr. Juluke leaves to cherish his memory his loving family: wife; Mrs. Hellene Piper Juluke; children, Ferdinand R. Juluke, Jr. and Gloria Mae Juluke Scott; one step-son, Arthur Piper, Jr.; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Historic Second Baptist Church, 2505 Marengo St., New Orleans, LA 70115. Visitation will begin 9:00 am -10:00 am, followed by the service at 10:00 am. Interment will take place on Monday,April 13, 2026 at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery .34888 Grantham College Dr. Sildell, LA 70460. Services entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home.
