Deborah Lynn Gonzales passed away on Monday, December 8th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Deborah was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish, where she was known, cherished, and loved by all who had the blessing of knowing her. Deborah was a devoted and dedicated mother, and Grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her family. She loved to attend Dance recitals, ball games and celebrate all accomplishments with her children and Grandchildren. Her love for her Dog Prince-her companion was like no other. He was her shadow and brought an immense amount of joy and happiness into her life. She was a giant sports fan who knew every player and position. Her strength, Sass, kindness and her unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and she will forever be missed.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents Paul Orillion Sr. and Martha Lois Bentley Orillion, her beloved husband, Angelo Gonzales Sr., and her son, Joshua . She is survived by her children: Freddie (Mindy), Melissa, Jason, Jaime (Derick), and Austin (Abigayle).
She is also survived by her many grandchildren whom she adored greatly: Elliana Grace, Derick Jr. (DJ), Jason Jr., Jayden , Logan, Ryder, Lexus, Mercedes, Bentley, Gabby, (late) Maxine, Frederick IV, and Chloe, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Deborah leaves behind her beloved siblings : May (late Tommy), Paul (Tina), Michael, Robin (late Terry), Lisa, and Peggy (late Morris). Her family was truly her heart, and she held each of them close throughout her life. She also loved and adored all of her nieces and nephews whom she shared a very close bond with.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, December 11th, 2025, which would have been her birthday. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Chalmette, 305 E. St. Bernard Hwy, Chalmette, LA 70043, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM for viewing. A funeral service will follow from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life and Birthday gathering at the church lasting until 5:00 PM. ”
