Billy Homan

Billy Edward Homan, 73, passed away on August 30, 2026, at his home in Marrero, Louisiana. He was born on September 25, 1952, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Edgar Vernice Homan and Mary Frances Kirksey Homan Roncalli.

Billy spent much of his working life as a welder and later worked in security, including work in the movie industry and at a juvenile justice center.

A longtime fan of The Beatles, Billy enjoyed spending time with friends, but the children in his life brought him some of his greatest joy. He deeply loved his grandchildren and great-grandson and was always willing to help care for the many children around the family, treating them all like grandchildren.

Billy is survived by his sons, Sean Homan and Louis Rome; daughter-in-law, Keysha Rome; grandchildren, Kameron Rome and his wife, Brianna Rome; Kodi Rome and his significant other, Stefany Amador; and Aiden Rome; great-grandson, Jace Rome; brother, Gene Homan; former wife, Tina Benandi; and longtime best friend, Daphne “Dee” Hebert and her family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Charles Homan, Danny Homan, Evelyn Toups, Judy Wilson, and Betty Jo Bradham.

Billy will be remembered for the love he had for his family, especially the children and grandchildren in his life, and for the friendships and memories he leaves behind.
