Helma Deloris Dickerson Thibodeaux was born on august 25, 1933, in Labadieville, La where she attended and graduated from Napoleonville High School in Assumption Parish in 1951.
Shortly after graduating high school, Thelma entered a union with Albert Thibodeaux, Jr. in 1955 and relocated to New Orleans, La where she worked as a seamstress and private duty sitter. upon relocating to New Orleans Thelma began to build her nest in Pontchartrain Park where she and Albert built a home and became lifetime members of St. Gabriel The Archangel Catholic Church where she was an active faithful member of the church as well as a member of the choir. Thelma dedicated her life to being a devout wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. in Thelma’s free time, she enjoyed talking to family and friends, going on her daily walks, exercising, and dancing whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Thelma is survived by her 3 children (Keith Thibodeaux sr., Albert “Tony” Thibodeaux, and Dihedra “Dede” Thibodeaux), sister (Enola “Shug/Sugar” Douglas), 8 grandchildren (Kemechia Thibodeaux, Keith Thibodeaux Jr, Ture Thibodeaux, Samoray Thibodeaux, Austin Thibodeaux-Fleury, Justin M. Lee, Sr., Albert “Drew” Thibodeaux, And Aaron Thibodeaux.), 5 great-grandchildren (Jamesha Smith, Diamond Bean, Kirk Bean, Katara Bean, And Justin M. Lee, Jr.), and 1 great-great grandchild Kassuis Bean. Thelma is preceded in death by her husband (Albert Thibodeaux, jr.), parents (William Dickerson and gertrude Chauffee), younger sister (Ethel “Baba” Smith), niece (Tania Douglas), and other family and friends.

The burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery following the services and concluding with the repast at St. Gabriel.

- Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
