Melanie Treniece Westerfield entered eternal life on Monday, August 1, 2023 at the age of 60. She was born in New Orleans, LA on March 12, 1963, where she lived until she was called home to be with the lord. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her loving and devoted husband, James Westerfield Sr; two sons, Venver Young and James Westerfield Jr and one daughter, Jaime Peters; mother Ethel Denham; siblings, Lawrence, Michael, Donovon, and Keith Gordon and Mildred Paige; grandkids Brock Young and Alaiya, Daylen, and Ayden Peters and host of nieces and nephews. Melanie was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Gordon, Sr and brother Kevin Gordon.
- A homegoing service honoring her life and legacy will be held at Morning Star MBC, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA 70072 on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 10:00 am with visitation from 8:00-9:50 am.
- Interment: Westlawn Cemeteries, 1225 Whitney Ave, Terrytown, LA 70056.
- Repast: A Day to Remember Garden Club, 1785 Carol Sue Avenue, Terrytown, LA 70056 from 1-4pm.
