Lionel Lee Stewart, age 72, departed this life on Saturday, October 1, 2022, in New Orleans LA. He was born November 26, 1949 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the late Rowena Tansiel Ferdinand and Leroy Stewart. Lionel was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, but due to health issues, relocated to New Orleans.
Lionel is survived by his devoted, and loving sister, Julia Ferdinand Bias; brother-in-law, Horace Bias, Sr.; sister-in-law Betty St. Aime; devoted nephews Ellis Bias, Horace Bias Jr., Etienne “Shan” Bias (Brittany), Jamal Davis, Elliott “Buddy” Ford Jr., and Donald Ferdinand (Baton Rouge, LA); nieces Renee Bias (Elliott), Echienne “Sheen” Bias (Houston, TX), Jasmine Marshall, E’Mya Mabon (Dallas, TX), Malaia Bias, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lionel was preceded in death by his mother, Rowena Tansiel Ferdinand, his father, Leroy Stewart, sister Estelle Ferdinand Washington, and brothers Edward Ferdinand Jr., Leo Ferdinand Sr., and David Stewart.
- Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Directors, 4101 St. Claude Ave. New Orleans, LA 70117 at 9:00 a.m. A burial will follow at Holt Cemetery, 635 City Park Ave., New Orleans, LA 70119.
