Ersel Bogan, Sr

Ersel “Papa” Bogan, Sr., age 89, transitioned to his Eternal Home on Saturday, February 3, 2018. He was born on July 31, 1928, to the late Alexander & Gertrude Cannon Bogan in Florence, MS. He later moved to New Orleans where he resided for the past 68 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Ella “Mama” Bogan, and his children Linda (Wilson), Jacqueline, Catherine (Robert), Donna, Deonne–Dee Betty Netty (Samuel), Kenneth (Teresa), and Brian Bogan. Also, daughter-in-law, Dinah Bogan, 24 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and caregivers Denisha Marshall, Kwana Scott and Deidra Green.  He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 children Ersel Bogan, Jr., and Denise Bogan, 12 siblings and one grandchild.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Wake/Funeral Services on Friday, February 9, 2018, 7:00 pm at Solid Rock Christian Fellowship, (Apostle Clarence Vinnett, Overseer) 1817 Reverend Richard Wilson Drive, Kenner, LA 70062. On Saturday, February 10, 2018, Funeral Services will be hosted by New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Rankin County, 935 MS-469, Pearl, MS 39208, at 11:00am. Interment immediately following in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, Mama Bogan is requesting donations be made to Women On Assignment, Inc., in honor of Ersel “Papa” Bogan, Sr.  Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Directors.
