On January 1, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Sarah and Prince Veal were blessed with a beautiful daughter, named, Elvia “Lubertha” Veal, affectionately called, “El.” Elvia accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in 1967, and was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church by her late uncle, Dr. Freddie H. Dunn, Sr. On Saturday, May 29, 2021, she entered eternal rest with her children at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents, Prince and Sarah Veal; six sisters, Linda Veal, Lucinda Mitchell, Gloria Armstead, Ernestine Anderson, Mildred Clark, Valrean Veal; and two brothers, Alvin Veal and Irvin Veal.She leaves to mourn her precious memories her loving and devoted children, Linda M. Veal, Rita V. Laners and Kenneth Veal; six (6) grandchildren; four (4) great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her church family. Relatives and friends of the family, pastors, officers and members of New Hope Baptist Church, Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Union Baptist College and Theological Seminary, employees of Positive Care Home Health Services, LLC, Dialysis Clinic, Inc., TBC Care Solutions, Tulane Medical Center, NAMI of New Orleans, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans and Community Care Hospital are invited to attend the funeral services

 

  • funeral services on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church, 1807 Reverend John C. Raphael Jr Way (formerly LaSalle Street), New Orleans, LA 70113 at 11:00 am. Visitation starts promptly at 10:00 am, Reverend Jamaal Weathersby, Pastor.
