Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Elga Washington

‘Who can find a virtuous woman ? For her price is far above rubies. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.’
Proverbs 31: 10, 28

One’s lifespan may be likened to a day; each chapter is marked by the hour, as it keeps pace with time. On Thursday, November 17, 2022, in the late evening, God drew back the curtain and brought to a close the end of a day for Elga Pitre Washington, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, Godmother and friend. Evening has dawned, the bell tolls and the day is passed and gone.

The dawn of the day began on January 28, 1938. She was born to the late Persley and Lola Green Pitre in the Plaisance Community of Opelousas, Louisiana. One who loved and lived life to the fullest, as a loving mother, she was affectionately called Mama by her two adoring children, Morris David and Catherine Ann. To her wonderful grandson and great grandsons, Keith Sr. Keith Jr., Kenai, Keinajh, and Kaden, she was fondly known as Maw Maw.
